The Tennessee Education Lottery has had another successful fiscal year! Our record return to education of $286.1 million brings the total raised since inception to over $1.2 billion. Gross ticket sales for our fourth fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2008, were over $1 billion, making gross ticket sales since inception over $4.39 billion.

While the Lottery’s success rewards players and retailers, Tennessee students and families reap the ultimate benefits. During the 2007-2008 school year, approximately 68,000 higher-education students received Lottery-funded awards and approximately 10,000 students received Lottery-funded Dual Enrollment Grants. Lottery dollars have also been used to fund 257 new pre-Kindergarten classes and 126 after-school programs throughout the state.

The success of the Tennessee Lottery is a result of the hard work of so many dedicated people. From our staff of more than 165 employees, to countless players, supporters and a network of more than 4,700 Tennessee retailers, this is a true team effort. By working together, the Lottery will continue to provide entertainment to players while maintaining sound business practices and superior customer service.
