$1 MILLION WINNER HAD DONE MAINTENANCE WORK ON LOTTERY OFFICES

Today’s visit to the Tennessee Lottery’s Nashville headquarters wasn’t the first time Jason Dietrich had been to the building. While previous visits were to clean the windows of the multi-tenant facility, today’s trip was to collect a cool $1 million prize.

“I always looked in and thought about what it would be like to win,” said Jason, 36, owner of a building maintenance company. “And now I know!”

Jason was one of 11 Tennessee Lottery players who won cash prizes this week by entering non-winning instant tickets online as part of the “Play It Again!” program.

“I’ll keep working, but not quite as hard,” he told Rebecca Hargrove, Lottery President and CEO, with a smile. “I’m the same person, and money won’t change that.”

Jason didn’t give details about plans for his winnings other than purchasing a new vehicle and helping family, but added that he can check “winning the lottery” off his bucket list. “A lot of people have winning the lottery on their bucket list. And now I can check that off mine.” Jason is the Tennessee Lottery’s 185th winner of $1 million or more.

Other winners who claimed their Play It Again! prizes today were Lisa Baxley of Talbott, who won $200,000; and Charles Casey of Mountain City, who started the 333-mile drive to Nashville last night in order to arrive bright and early to collect his $250,000 prize.

“I wasn’t going to wait around,” said Charles, who works at a golf course. “I had to get up here and make sure this was for real. I still can’t believe it!”
