$100,000 WINNING TICKET RETRIEVED FROM TRASH CAN

Daniel Brooks, Jr., a HVAC Technician from Shelbyville, purchased his $100,000 winning Powerball ticket by choosing numbers that were all birthdays and ages of his family members. Daniel purchased his winning ticket in late April in Murfreesboro. After watching the numbers drawn on May 5, Daniel had a hunch the numbers were similar to those he had chosen. That’s when he discovered that Robin, not realizing he’d purchased a multi-draw ticket, had thrown it away. “Luckily, it was in a trash can that we rarely ever use, so we were able to easily get it out,” said Robin. Daniel and Robin Brooks said they don’t know exactly what they will do with their entire prize, but that they plan to use some of it to pay off the loan on their family car, as well as some other bills. Congratulations to the Brooks family!
