16 LUCKY LOTTERY PLAYERS WIN MORE THAN $3.5 MILLION WITH “PLAY IT AGAIN!”

STATEWIDE – The holiday season is sparkling even brighter for 16 lucky Tennessee Lottery winners, who won prizes ranging from $500 – $1 million this month by entering eligible non-winning instant tickets into the VIP Rewards “Play It Again!” drawing program.

“The whole family will have a great Christmas!” Frank P. of Hixson told Lottery President and CEO Rebecca Paul when claiming his $200,000 prize. Frank, who has two children and three grandchildren, won by entering a non-winning White Hot 7’s ticket into the online program.

Another winner, Yvette W. of Elizabethton, happened to be celebrating her birthday when she received the phone call from Ms. Paul that she had won an incredible $500,000.

“Wow! I can’t believe it! What a great birthday!” she said, adding that she plans to pay off her house.

Play It Again! offers another chance to win a top prize from an eligible non-winning instant ticket. When players enter their eligible non-winning instant tickets into the Lottery’s VIP Rewards program for points, those tickets are also automatically entered into Play It Again! When that game is included in a Play It Again! drawing, the once non-winning ticket could become a top prize winner. Drawings are held multiple times per year. The program also deters litter by adding value to a ticket that might otherwise be thrown away improperly.

“I think I’m going to faint … thank goodness I’m sitting down,” said Linda Y., a retired nurse in Murfreesboro, when she heard the news from Ms. Paul that she’d won $500,000. “I’m over the moon!”
