$50,000 Won in Sparta; “Lotto America” Jackpot Game Launches

A $50,000 Powerball winner in Sparta and a brand-new jackpot game top the weekend news from the Tennessee Education Lottery. The multi-state game Lotto America launches today, giving Lottery players another choice for fun and the chance to win one of nine prize levels.

“Players enjoy new games and new options, and providing variety is one of the keys to our success in raising funds for education,” said Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation. “And for just $1, Lotto America is a fun game that will give players the chance to win a multi-million-dollar jackpot.”

Meanwhile, a player in Sparta matched four numbers plus the Powerball in last night’s drawing to win $50,000. No additional information is known about the winner until the prize is claimed.

Lotto America is a multi-state game launching in 13 states today. Jackpots will start at $2 million with the exception of the initial launch amount, which is $15 million because no one won the top prize for Hot Lotto, a jackpot game that recently ended.

There are nine ways to win playing Lotto America. Drawings will be held Wednesday and Saturday, and overall odds to win a prize are 1:9.6. For an additional $1 per play, players can purchase the “Lotto America All Star Bonus,” which multiplies any non-jackpot win from two to five times depending on the multiplier number drawn.
