More than 6,200 Tennessee Powerball Winning Tickets Multiplied by 10

NASHVILLE—The prizes of more than 6,200 Powerball winning tickets sold in Tennessee—and more than 178,000 throughout the country—were multiplied by 10 in one week thanks to the game’s 10X Power Play feature, which comes into play when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less.

The 10X multiplier was drawn during the Aug. 28 and the Sept. 4 Powerball drawings.

Here’s how it works: For an extra $1, a Powerball player can add the Power Play to multiply any prize from seven of the nine prize tiers by the multiplier drawn during the Powerball drawing. The standard field of multipliers ranges from 2X-5X, but when the advertised jackpot is $150 million or less, a 10X is added to the field.

For example, on Wednesday night three Tennessee Powerball tickets matched four white ball numbers to win a base prize of $100. Since those players added the Power Play, the prize became $1,000.
