POWERBALL AND LOTTO 5 JACKPOTS CONTINUE TO GROW; $100,000 Winning Powerball Ticket Sold in Memphis

NASHVILLE – Tennessee’s Powerball game on Wednesday produced 39,428 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state, including one $100,000 ticket purchased in Memphis. By selecting the Power Play option, 6,549 players multiplied their winnings by four. Since there was no jackpot winner, the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Wednesday is estimated at $110 Million.

The Lotto 5 Jackpot also continues to climb as $146,253 rolls over to next drawing on Friday. Last night’s drawing produced 1,821 winners, including 64 players who each won $134 and 1,757 players who each won $8.

Lotto 5 Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST and can be seen on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. As of Oct. 15, the Lottery had transferred more than $174 million to the Tennessee Lottery for Education account, as well as more than $2 million for after-school programs. All Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in Tennessee, which initially include HOPE Scholarships.
