POWERBALL JACKPOT CLIMBS TO ESTIMATED $95 MILLION;$200,000 Winning Powerball Ticket Purchased in Jonesborough

NASHVILLE – Tennessee’s Powerball game on Saturday, Nov. 20 produced 33,255 winners who purchased tickets from retailers in the state, including one $100,000 ticket, purchased in Jonesborough, which was doubled to $200,000 by choosing the Power Play option. Another 6,722 players selected the Power Play option, which also multiplied their winnings by two. Since there was no jackpot winner, the jackpot for the next Powerball drawing on Wednesday is estimated at $95 Million.

Friday night’s Lotto 5 drawing produced 1,785 winners, including 41 players who each won $201 and 1,406 players who each won $9. The jackpot amount of $49,214 from Friday’s drawing will rollover to Monday, and will continue to grow with ticket sales.

Lotto 5 Drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST and can be seen on the Lottery’s television network partners throughout the state.

The Tennessee Lottery began selling its first instant tickets on Jan. 20, 2004. As of Oct. 15, the Lottery had transferred more than $174 million to the Tennessee Lottery for Education account, as well as more than $2 million for after-school programs. All Lottery profits will go to pay for specific education programs in Tennessee, which initially include HOPE Scholarships.
