POWERBALL JACKPOT PUSHED TO $450 MILLION FOR WEDNESDAY

NASHVILLE— The Powerball jackpot has been pushed up to an unbelievable $450 million for Wednesday’s drawing. Sales continue to grow as people across the country join the fun and ask each other: “What would you do with 450 million dollars?”

And while the spotlight is on the incredible jackpot, the Tennessee Lottery reminds players to check their tickets after drawings even if the jackpot is not won. It’s easy and convenient to check tickets with the official TN Lottery mobile app ticket scanner or by visiting area Lottery retailers with in-store ticket checkers.

“While the big jackpots get the bulk of attention, there are eight other prize levels that players can win with prizes ranging from $4 up to $2 million,” said Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation.

“Players should sign their ticket and check it as soon as possible to avoid missing out on any prize they may have won.”

With a jackpot this size, the Tennessee Education Lottery is encouraging those who want a chance to win to avoid the rush and not wait until the last minute to purchase a ticket. Tickets for the big drawing must be purchased by 8:59 p.m. CT/9:59 p.m. ET on Wednesday. The Lottery also reminds players to have fun, but play responsibly.

Powerballis a popular drawing-style lottery game played in 44 states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The current jackpot is the fourth largest in Powerball history. The record jackpot for the game was $590.5 million, won in May 2013 by a single player in Florida.
