TENNESSEE PLAYER WINS $259.8 MILLION POWERBALL JACKPOT!

A Tennessee Lottery player who purchased a Powerball ticket in Knoxville has won the staggering jackpot of $259.8 million after the drawing held Wednesday, June 11. No information is known about the winner until the prize is claimed.

The Tennessee Lottery advises the lucky ticket-holder to sign the back of the ticket, keep it in a safe place, consult with a financial and/or legal professional, and to call its Nashville office before coming to claim the prize.

This prize is the largest in the history of the Tennessee Lottery and the second mega-jackpot winner this year. In addition to Wednesday’s $259.8 million jackpot winner, a Bellevue mother and son won a Mega Millions jackpot of $61 million on January 3.

Should this Powerball winner opt to take the lump-sum payment, the cash value of the $259.8 million jackpot is $153.5 million. The winner has 180 days from the day of the drawing to claim the prize.

The Lottery will release additional details as they develop.
